The Lost Tide Story
Lost Tide Spirit Co is a micro distillery in Stansbury, on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. Keira & her fiancée Bennett founded and operate Lost Tide Spirit Co, from their cellar door located in the historic Oyster Bay Hotel building on the foreshore.
Both are passionate distillers and cocktail & mixology enthusiasts, they are handcrafting premium small batch gin, cocktail liqueurs and vodkas. They’ve created a range of classic cocktails with an Australian twist, are developing new liqueurs and cocktail recipes and have many more new and exciting things on the horizon.
Lost Tide Spirit Co is named after the unique tidal movements in St Vincent Gulf, just out the front of the cellar door. St Vincent Gulf is one of a few places in the world where the phenomenon of a neap tide occurs, it is called a “dodge” tide in South Australia.
The scientific explanation behind a dodge tide is that the amplitudes of the main semi-diurnal tide constituents are almost identical, which results in a day-long period of slack water occurring roughly twice a month, where a tide is dodged or as LTSC describe it: “lost”.
Generally on a “lost” tide, fishing is slow, and the surf is pretty flat. We think that it’s a perfect time to enjoy a G&T or a delicious cocktail with friends and family.

Take a walk through a savoury herb garden. Prominent notes of rosemary, native basil, and native thyme are blended with juniper and coriander giving a suprising, Mediterranean taste. We recommend you try it in a gin & tonic with 50/50 soda or sparkling mineral water and tonic water, cucumber & a fresh lime wedge. Suggested Tonic water: Mischief Brew Tonic No. 3 Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water 700ml
