PREMIUM SMALL BATCH GIN, LIQUEURS & VODKA WITH AN AUSTRALIAN TWIST.

THE LOST TIDE STORY

Lost Tide Spirit Co. The Southern-most distillery on the Yorke Peninsula. Lost Tide’s Cellar Door is tucked into the historic Oyster Bay Hotel building, attached to the award winning Dalrymple Hotel, right on the foreshore.

Keira & her fiancée Bennett founded and operate Lost Tide Spirit Co. They’re both passionate distillers and cocktail & mixology enthusiasts. Both love handcrafting premium small batch gin, vodkas, and cocktail liqueurs.

They are also creating a range of classic cocktails with an Australian twist, and developing new liqueurs with cocktail recipes in mind. Stay tuned. They have many more new and exciting things on the horizon.

WHAT ABOUT THE NAME?

Lost Tide Spirit Co is named after the unique tidal movements in St Vincent Gulf, one of a few places in the world where the phenomenon of a neap tide occurs. We call it a “dodge” tide in South Australia.

The scientific explanation behind a dodge tide is that the amplitudes of the main semi-diurnal tide constituents are almost identical, which results in a day-long period of slack water occurring roughly twice a month, where a tide is dodged or as we describe it: ‘lost’.

Generally on a ‘lost’ tide, the fishing is slow, and the surf is pretty flat. We think that it’s a perfect time to enjoy a G&T or a delicious cocktail with your friends and family.
